Administrator – Family Faith Formation – Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, Scotch Plains
General Description
Perform administrative and clerical duties related to Faith Formation registration, events and projects.
Qualifications/Skills
- Computer experience: Google and documents suite
- Familiarity with religious ministries and administration a plus
- Prior experience working in a parish environment desired
- Experience working with databases and associated reporting
- Optimize database for most effective parishioner accompaniment
- Add and onboard new parishioners to the Faith Formation database and parish app
- Initiate the welcome packet process
- Obtain new family baptismal and sacramental information.
- Create class list and door hangers for the start of Faith Formation
- Create name tags for catechists and confirmation students
- Organize and maintain Faith Formation Groups and Meeting Space in Database
- Maintain Parish Life Calendar
- Print off materials, spreadsheets, and name tags for different Faith Formation initiatives
- Order supplies as needed
- Communicate with families as needed
- Attend meetings with parents and/or students as needed (e.g., Kick off Faith Formation, Coordinate First Communion retreat, Reconciliation, Confirmation Interviews, First Communion, etc.)
- Maintain Faith Formation Meeting notes, handouts, and meeting recaps
- Keep track of those student not in their proper grade level
- Coordinator photographer for Sacraments and the signing of First Communion Bibles
- Submit Sacramental Notices to parishes
- Assist in adding Reconciliation and First Communion information to the Sacramental Registry
Education and/or Experience
- Client service oriented: strong relationship and communication skills
- Prior parish employment experience desired, but not required
- Team player willing to get involved
- Ability to multitask
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
