Please be advised that Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., maintains only two official social media accounts:
- X (formerly Twitter): @CardinalJWTobin
- Instagram: @CardinalJWTobin
These accounts are monitored daily by the Archdiocese of Newark.
Any other social media accounts—on platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, or alternative handles on X and Instagram—claiming to represent Cardinal Tobin are unauthorized and constitute fraudulent use of his name and identity.
If you encounter any such accounts or are contacted by them, please take the following steps:
- Report the activity to the Communications Office of the Archdiocese of Newark.
- Report the account to the relevant social media platform using its in-app reporting tools.
- If you are directly contacted or solicited by such an account, please also notify your local law enforcement.
