Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., announced the following appointments for December:

DEAN

Reverend Monsignor Peter Smutelovic has been appointed Dean of Pascack Valley Bergen 2P, effective Dec. 1, 2022, and ending Dec. 1, 2027.

PASTOR EMERITUS

Reverend Monsignor Robert E. Harahan, S.T.D. has been named Pastor Emeritus of Saint Rose of Lima Parish, Short Hills, effective Nov. 18, 2022.

PASTOR

Reverend Shijomon Kurian, C.R.M. has been appointed Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish, Lodi,

effective immediately and ending June 30, 2029.

PASTOR RENEWALS

Reverend Robert B. Stagg has been granted an extension to his pastorate at Church of the Presentation, Upper Saddle River, ending June 30, 2024.

PAROCHIAL VICAR

Reverend Fernando Luis Galvez has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Holy Trinity Parish, Hackensack, effective Nov. 5, 2022.

Reverend Tadeusz Mierzwa has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish, Garfield, effective Nov. 1, 2022.

CHAPLAIN

Reverend Joseph A. D’Amico has been appointed Chaplain of the Teaneck Fire Department, effective immediately.

Reverend Jaroslaw Zaniewski has been appointed Chaplain of both Ramapo College and Stevens Institute of Technology for one-year effective Dec. 1, 2022, to Nov. 30, 2023.

RETIRED

Reverend Victor P. Kennedy has been granted retirement, effective July 1, 2023.

Reverend Raymond R. Filipski has been granted retirement, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

RELEASED

Reverend Raymond Labranche has been granted a one-year extension as Spiritual Director at the International Seminary Redemptoris Mater, ending July 31, 2023.

Reverend Francisco de Asis Trujillo has been granted a three-year extension to the Diocese of Cadiz y Cueta, effective July 1, 2022, and ending July 1, 2025.

Reverend Zbigniew Kukielka has been released to the Diocese of Bridgeport, CT for a period of five years, effective Jan. 1, 2023, and ending Dec. 31, 2027.
