Clergy appointments | October 2024

Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., made the following appointments for October 2024:

CHAPLAINS

Reverend Jesus Carlo L. Merino has been appointed chaplain of the Knights of Columbus Summit Council #783, New Providence, effective October 1, 2024.

Reverend Antonio T. Sarento, Jr. has been given permission to serve as a military chaplain in the United States Air Force Chaplain Corps for a period of six years, effective July 29, 2024, and ending July 28, 2030.

ARCHDIOCESAN POSITIONS

Reverend Nelson Oyola has been appointed Spiritual Director for the Movimiento del Cursillos de Cristiandad, effective September 18, 2024.

Very Reverend Charles Pinyan has been appointed a member of the Corporate Board of Seton Hall Preparatory School, effective April 10, 2024.

Reverend Edmondo O. Sombilon has been elected as a member of the Council of Priests of the Archdiocese of Newark for a two-year term, ending September 2026.

EXCARDINATIONS

Reverend James G. Tucker has been granted excardination from the Archdiocese of Newark and to be incardinated into the Diocese of Metuchen, effective September 6, 2024.
