Jubilee Celebration of CYO Athletics

Each of our parishes and diocesan grammar schools are blessed with many fine and gifted young athletes and adults that participate in athletics at our school’s or parishes. We here at the Archdiocesan Office for Youth & Young Adult Ministry want to stand beside you, and give you the opportunity to honor, affirm, congratulate and show gratitude to these fine youth and adults!

We are offering the parishes and grammar schools of our Archdiocese the opportunity to confer special awards upon two of your GRAMMAR SCHOOL AGED athletes and one adult per sports program. This year the CYO Athletics Recognition Ceremony will take place on Sunday March 30th at the Cathedral Basilica at 3pm, and is part of the overall Jubilee Celebrations taking part in our Archdiocese.

The Awards being presented are:

Archdiocesan Youth Parish/ School Sportsmanship Award

Each parish/ school of the Archdiocese is encouraged to recognize up to TWO 7th or 8th grade athletes from their sports program for this award. Criteria: The Sportsmanship Award is presented to an athlete who displays outstanding sportsmanship through service or actions on and off the athletic field in their parish or school community.

Archdiocesan Adult Parish/ School Discipleship Award

Each parish/ school of the Archdiocese is encouraged to recognize ONE Adult for this award. Criteria: The Discipleship Award is presented to express appreciation and gratitude to adults who have demonstrated a commitment to young people and athletics in their parish or school
