Director of Mission Advancement – Church of the Immaculate Conception and Schools, Somerville (Diocese of Metuchen)

General Description

Immaculate Conception Church and Schools is seeking an experienced full-time Director of Mission Advancement to lead and manage its fundraising, marketing, and communication efforts. This position is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of its mission efforts in marketing and communications, enrollment management, alumni and donor relations, and in generating the philanthropic support necessary to advance the mission of the schools. The Director of Mission Advancement works collaboratively with and in supervision of the members of the Office of Mission Advancement, and cooperatively with the schools’ Administration and Marketing teams, the Chair of the Board of Limited Jurisdiction, and reports directly to the Pastor and Director of Schools and the Principal of Immaculata High School.

Qualifications/Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven team-leader adept at motivating, training, and managing the advancement team and the volunteer base related to it
• Proficiency with donor tracking software and social media platforms; proficiency using Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge
• Experience in donor prospecting, in cultivating and developing relationships with key donors, and in achieving success with major gifts
• Familiarity with IRS regulations as they relate to not-for-profit philanthropic giving and industry accounting/reporting standards

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, marketing, communications, or other related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of proven fundraising experience
