General Description

The Kitchen assistant position is responsible for all aspects of food production for meals served on site, contracted meal sites, and occasional catering events. The position also is responsible for meal production requirements, and keeping the kitchen clean, healthy, and safe per local and state regulations. Kitchen assistant also help with kitchen volunteers, while handling all food donations to the agency. 

Qualifications/Skills

  • At least 3 years of kitchen experience with a preference given least one year experience making large group congregate meals
  • Proficient in Microsoft PC and Windows applications
  • Good leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effectively speak to, lead, and guide the volunteers that assist in the kitchen
