Parish Catechetical Leader (Part-Time) – Sacred Heart Church, Haworth

General Description

The Parish Catechetical Leader (PCL) has the responsibility for the direction and formation of the parish religious education and sacrament preparation programs, as indicated below, in accordance with policies and guidelines of the Archdiocese of Newark. 

Qualifications/Skills

• Applicant must be a fully initiated practicing Catholic.
• Candidate must possess personal characteristics of leadership, creativity and vision
• Candidate must have good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Candidate must demonstrate organizational skills of planning, record keeping and budgeting.
• Candidate must demonstrate excellent computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Candidate must demonstrate digital literacy and be willing to incorporate media and digital tools as far as they enrich catechesis.

Education and/or Experience

• Educational degree or background in theology preferred.
• Experience in parish ministry as staff or volunteer preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
