School of Prayer
7 session course to enrich your spiritual life
Every third Wednesday of the Month
September 2023 through May 2024
(no class in December and March)
The goal of the spiritual life is not prayer, it is union with God. Prayer is the privileged place of expressing and deepening union with God. Just like any human relationship takes time and commitment to develop, a relationship with God through prayer takes exclusive time and effort. Prayer is vital to living up to our baptismal promises, and going forth as disciples tasked with the great commission.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Mt 28:19-20)
Even so, most people are not satisfied with their prayer lives. They feel they are not praying right, or not praying as they ought. This course is meant to confirm students in their judgements on their own prayer experience, and to mitigate fears and provide a spiritual toolbox for when prayer life needs a kickstart or a readjustment.
