Introductory Rites and Universal Prayers for October Synod Session One

The Archdiocesan logo of the Synod displays the years 2021 to 2024 with a group of people at the bottom. The words "For a Synodal Church" is displayed at the bottom. Underneath it, the words "Communion, Participation, Mission" are displayed.

The Synod on Synodality Session One will take place in Rome during the Month of October. Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has asked all Catholics to pray for the intercession of the Holy Spirit during the synodal session. Each week of the session has a theme. The first week will explore the theme of Synodality in the life of the Church and subsequent themes will be Communion, Mission, and Participation.

To aid you in engaging your parish, religious communities, and other institutions in prayer for Synod Session One, the Worship Office has prepared Introductory Rites and Universal Prayers for the Sunday of each week. Please use these resources to unite our Archdiocese in prayer with all other dioceses around the world. The texts are provided in English and Spanish.
